Not So Fun Fact…
- There are 768 million people in the world that lack access to clean water.
- Women and children spend 140 million hours a day collecting water.
- Today, nearly 1,600 children will die because they lack clean water, sanitation, and hygiene.
There are a number of programs we have going to help with the clean water and sanitation challenges around the word. Below are a listing of each of those programs and how you can get involved.

Difference Makers are people who want to help others and one way that you can do that is through starting your own Difference Maker Club at school. Difference Maker Clubs are groups of students focusing on a challenge anywhere in the world and then work together with the manufacturing community to build prototypes of possible tools that address that problem. STEM Launch K-8 School in Thornton, Colorado has a Difference Maker Club that is addressing clean water and sanitation. View their website here.
Another great program we are completed at STEM Launch was a penny drive. These pennies can add up and contribute to our goal of $5,000 for providing clean water to many in need. In 3 days of collecting pennies, the STEM Launch ESL class raised $942.00 that is 94,200 pennies. Thank you the STEM Launch ESL team for your hard work and great ideas to help others.
